The Farmers Market, Ceske Budejovice

We quickly learned where the local farmer's market was held downtown.....each Thursday and Saturday mornings (from 0600 to 1200 hrs) numerous local farmers come to sell their produce. It's located in the church parking lot near the river on the west side of downtown Ceske Budejovice.Bara had told us about the market and Dasa had told us where to park our car, but we found a handicap spot right near the market and the historic town square (more on that on a different entry). The next week, we parked on the other side of the river and had all of these lovely views to see on our way to the market.
The first Saturday we went there, it was pouring rain, but still several vendors remained and we were rewarded with fresh, absolutely delicious sweet cherries, sour cherries, apricots, peaches, potatoes, onions, garlic, carrots, lettuce, cucumbers, and the like. This last Saturday it was sunny and bright and there were many additional vendors there with long lines around particular stands, such as for fruit and mushrooms.
